Questions Answered
I walked in to my first day of school at Pope John Paul II not knowing what to expect. I was hit with mixed emotions of excitement and fear. I had all the normal questions going through my mind. What are the teachers going to be like? Will I make friends easily? Am I going to be able to get my locker open? Who will I sit with at lunch?
It only took one week and I knew that I had made the right decision.
I felt that everyone cared about me, were friendly, and that the teachers wanted me to do my very best.
During the next few weeks I was shocked at how fast the school year got started. I joined the “tech crew” for the play and enjoy the work we do. We meet once each week and work on getting lights, sound, and the like ready for our stage productions. There are lots of activities for students here at JPII HS.
Finally, believe it or not, I also like my classes. I am in honors English and honors Biology. I like the advanced work and how fast the classes move along.
It may only be the beginning of my fourth month here but I already know that my four years here will be great!
Yours will be, too!

I’d have to agree. I’m a freshman as well and I had a lot of these questions and more like: Will I be able to find all my classrooms? Will my teachers like me? Will I be able to make some good friends? It turns out, I was more social in our first month of school than I was from Kindergarten to Eighth Grade

I’ll be a freshman next year and I know Greg from Saint Francis Xavier, the school from which he graduated and I just graduated. I have those same feelings for my first few days, but I know I will assimilate to the school quickly like I did at St. Francis. I know a few teachers from the school because I shadowed a day there (and I enjoyed it very much), but the only thing is I shadowed a friend of mine who is going into her senior year! But no matter what, I am really going to live the dream at Pope John Paul.
